Scary Scarecrows!

My scarecrow has got stripy pants and an enormous smile.

Scissors, material scraps and glue are needed.
What a messy material mountain!
We are busy making collage scarecrows to help advertise our Ngatimoti Festival which is being held on Sunday 23 October.  Our scarecrows must be colourful and eye catching.  They need to include what, where and when information about the festival.   Each year a scarecrow competition is held and lots of families make some wonderful creations, then they put them out along the roadsides to help show the way to the Ngatimoti Festival.  Our class is  planning to make a large scarecrow to help show the way  to this year's festival. Be sure to  look out for it, and many more scarecrows along the Motueka Valley Highway.

    Great to see you are so creative with your scarecrow creations. I will be looking for stripy socks like Jade is creating in her collage.

    Room 3 has some innovative ideas for our scarecrow. Here is a clue-

    Wow! It looks like you are well on the way to some exciting scarecrows. We are just make one large class scarecrow in Room 2. Our scarecrow is still in progress - he's made out of a soccer ball, bamboo sticks and old clothes.
    I look forward to seeing the completed scarecrows from the Hall class hanging around the place! What materials have you used?

    Wow! what interesting scarecrows hall class, theres one big group of 7-8 in room2 and they are making the scarecrow, the rest of the class get extra topic time.
    I'm not in the scarecrow group because i don't know how to make one.
